I will be at the San Diego Comic Con (aka Comic Con International) for a short time this weekend. I'm flying in on Friday to attend the Eisner Awards that night. In case you haven't heard, I have been nominated for the Russ Manning Most Promising Newcomer Award!
The next morning, Saturday July 14, 10-11am, writer Bobby Curnow and I will be signing at the IDW booth, #2643. So grab your copies of The Night of 1000 Wolves and That Hellbound Train and bring them by, or get yourself a copy at the booth. The rest of the day I'll be walking around on the floor doing whatever it is that people do at this show. Hope to see you there!

Ghost Ship HMS Resolute
This depicts the discovery of the HMS Resolute, an exploration ship abandoned in the Arctic after becoming trapped in the ice, and found a year later by an American whaling ship, floating some 1200 miles away from it's last known location. The tale of the Resolute is an integral part of The Cabinet, a graphic novel currently in production by my friend Christian Sager and artist Kelly Williams.
Summary of The Cabinet: On a doomed 1901 mission to the arctic Northwest Passage, a “shadow cabinet” of social outcasts opposing America’s government find horror and madness that leads them to the assassination of the President of the United States.
There is a Kickstarter campaign designed to raise funds for the production of The Cabinet. I painted this scene as part of the donation rewards packages. This print, as well as several other beautiful pieces are available, along with copies of the book in PDF, softcover, and hardcover, and original art. Christian has told me about this story and it will be a really fascinating project and a great read. I encourage you to check out the Kickstarter page and consider donating to the creation of The Cabinet!

Sketches from Heroes Con 2012
Heroes Con is a spectacular show. This was my fourth year traveling down to Charlotte, NC and every year tops the previous. If you want to know how a comic book convention should be done, this is your example. I had a tremendous time and it was successful on so many levels. I was swamped with sketch requests all three days and my prints and books flew off the table. The people I meet are the real reason this show is so great. A big, heartfelt thanks to all the friends(new and old) I got to hang with, however briefly, and to the many fans who stopped by the table.
Here are pics of sketches from the show. You can see the rest of my photos at my flickr and facebook.
