Sketches from Heroes Con 2013

There's not much I can say about Heroes Con that I haven't expressed previous years. It's one of my favorite show, for a myriad of reasons. It's wonderfully organized by people who have a real love of the medium, the industry, and the folks that populate it on both sides, creators and fans. This is an art show, and there's amazing art being sold and created live on every inch of the show floor. There's just a great vibe from this show, mostly from the awesome people that I get to see and hang with for these brief moments over the weekend. I wish it could last longer(although that might actually kill me.) I wish I had more time to spend with these people.

I am accepting sketch pre-orders for Heroes Con, June 7-9, in Charlotte, North Carolina. If you're going to the con, you can email me with a pre-order, which I will have finished and ready to pick up at my table. My schedule is very tight right now, so I will only be taking a few requests.  I will be doing sketches at the table as well, but this helps me keep up with the demand I often receive.

Sketches from Appleseed Comic Con

It's been a few days since the show, but here are a few words about the first year of the newly named Appleseed Comic Con, in Fort Wayne, Indiana that I attended last Saturday. It was a fantastic show, and the area around my table was hopping most of the day. I didn't do as many sketches as last year, but more than made up for it with book and print sales.  In fact, I sold out of all the copies I brought of night of 1,000 Wolves! The man behind the con, well actually, right up front, was my friend Zack Kruse. He puts a ton of heart and effort into the show every year and it shows. On friday, some of us went to see the local minor league baseball team, the Tin Caps, trollop some guys from Michigan. The next morning was a hearty breakfast at the world's smallest diner. It's just a really great convention. I saw a bunch of friends I haven't seen in a year or more and met a bunch of folks for the first time. It was a fun, successful show and a great weekend. If you're anywhere near Fort Wayne Indiana next year, you should go.
