Another fun and busy Free Comic Book Day has come and gone. Many thanks to the awesome folks at Phantom of the Attic Comics in Oakland for having me. Here are the quick mini sketches I did that day.

Another Free Comic Book Day come and gone. I was a guest once again at Phantom of the Attic, in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh. I was swamped with sketch requests, and I tried to do my best while the pressure was on. The sketches were free for the kids and cheap for everyone else. Big thanks to everyone who came by and to the awesome folks at Phantom for having me and putting on a great event!

For this year's Free Comic Book Day I was the guest of Phantom of the Attic Comics, in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh. From the moment the doors opened, the place was swamped with eager patrons, including a line that led down the stairs and spilled onto the sidewalk. The folks at Phantom did a great job this year and I wish to give them my gratitude, not just for hosting this fantastic event, but for inviting me and totally hooking me up while I was there. Many thanks to everyone who came to my table to get a sketch, sketchbook, print, or just to chat. I was busy for hours, constantly drawing mini sketches for folks. Here they are, all in one place:

Free Comic Book Day!

Saturday is Free Comic Book Day, in which comic book retailers from across the country will have a selection of free comics to give away to the public.

I will be at Phantom of the Attic in Oakland, Pittsburgh, doing sketches, signing books, and selling a selection of prints and stuff. Phantom is having the end of it's big warehouse liquidation sale, so there will be lots of deals to be had. See you there!

Free Comic Book Day sketches

Last Saturday was Free Comic Book Day and I was invited by the good folks at Phantom of the Attic in the Oakland neighborhood to set up at the event. I gave away a bunch of copies of the Guns of Shadow Valley preview book, sold some prints, and drew sketches for those attending. Here are the sketches from the day. Free Comic Book Day 2010

Saturday May 1st was Free Comic Book Day! FCBD is an annual event where comic shops across the country give away a selection of Free comic books. I was invited by Phantom of the Attic, a great shop here in Pittsburgh, to set up shop at a table and sell my wares, and Amber was invited in her Wonder Woman persona to help attract and entertain the fine folks who attended. The shop was packed for most of the day and I was busy with sketches. I sold a few prints, a bunch of the Guns preview books, some of the Monsters!*Mostly sketchbook, and even a t-shirt, (which I wasn't even displaying, I just brought them along in case).

It was great fun talking with a lot of local folks in this active comic scene they've got going in Pittsburgh. The good folks at Phantom were efficient and gracious, as always. They even had sandwiches for us guests, and later they brought out a bunch of cupcakes for whoever wanted one! I also walked away with a huge stash of free comics! Along with a three week backlog of my regular books, I've got a lot of reading to catch up on.

Thor and FCBD reminder

Just a friendly reminder that May 1st is Free Comic Book Day! Local retailers will have a selection of free comics that they will be giving away. I will be set up along with artists Kristopher Smith(Lady Gaga comic) and Wayne Wise(Grey Legacy) at Phantom of the Attic in the Oakland area of Pittsburgh. I'll be selling the Guns preview book, the Monsters! sketchbook, prints, and original art. Please, stop on by!

Pittsburgh Appearances

This weekend is Pittsburgh Comicon! I'll be set up at a small press booth, in the main room, right across from the bathrooms, ya can't miss it! I'll have numerous goods for sale: The Guns preview book, a series of prints, my Monsters! sketchbook, and Guns of Shadow Valley T-shirts. I'll be taking a limited number of sketch commissions, so sign up early! My booth will look something like this:


Saturday, May 1st is Free Comic Book Day! As part of their celebration, I've been invited to appear at Phantom of the Attic, in the Oakland area of Pittsburgh. If you don't know what Free Comic Book Day is, check it out here. Phantom is an outstanding comic store and the local shop that I frequent. I'll be there from 11-4, signing, selling sketches, my new sketchbook, the Guns of Shadow Valley preview book, and T-shirts. If you're in town, stop by the shop for some free comics and come say hello. If you buy something from me, even better!
